A different kind of pet food from a different kind of pet food company, deciding to put "Pets Before Profit." That’s how Guardian Pet Food was started, became a pending certified B Corp, and eventually transformed into what it is today: Dog Almighty Elixirs & NOBL Foods.

Jim Galovski, Founder Guardian Pet Food

A 25-year veteran in the pet food industry, Jim currently is watched by Louie, a Golden Retriever puppy and Captain (Cappy), a 2 year old English Springer Spaniel. Jim sees to it that you not only get the best food possible for your pet but that you also have the best experience possible bringing it to your home and feeding it to your pet.

His career credentials come by way of numerous roles at Nestle Purina, Mars Pet Care (Royal Canin), and Blue Buffalo, including territory manager and team leader to Director of Global Supply Chain Solutions and Director of Veterinary Commerce—all of which led to here, NOBL, and his firm belief in pets before profits.

Jim also has consulted for a half dozen other pet food companies in various stages ranging from start-ups to established global players, always sharing his distinct point of view and ethos that we should always do our best by the animals who we share our lives with. Jim currently serves on the Advisory Boards of Bond Pets, LLC and PetMio.

As a member of the National Animal Supplement Council (NASC), we’ve made a commitment to delivering quality products and providing our customers with 100% transparency. NASC’s overriding goal is to promote the health and well-being of non-human food chain animals that are given animal health supplements by their owners, and to protect and enhance the integrity of the animal health product industry.

As a NASC member, we must pass a comprehensive facility audit every two years, maintain ongoing compliance with rigorous NASC quality standards, participate in annual continuing education facilitated by NASC, and pass random independent testing of our products to ensure they are meeting label claims. We provide our customers with complete and full transparency of our products, all the way from the sourcing of product packaging to proving details on all active and inactive ingredients and where they come from.

SQF-Certified Manufacturing

Beyond NASC standards, we’ve expanded our commitment to food safety by utilizing a manufacturer that is SQF food safety certified – a rigorous, third-party food safety and quality verification program recognized globally to meet stringent requirements at all levels of the food supply chain, from farm to retail.

B-Corp

Additionally, we are a pending Certified B Corp, meeting the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose and build a more inclusive and sustainable economy.

Packaging

When discussing Certified B Corp criteria, sustainability, and responsible sourcing for the Dog Almighty brand, we took many steps in choosing the right product packaging to make the brand more sustainable. We looked at things from all angles, including the environmental impact of each option from the beginning to the end of its lifecycle, including minimization of waste, reducing carbon footprint, responsible processing and more. We ultimately decided to choose Tetra Pak® for more reasons than one.

Tetra Pak® responsibly sources their materials, with more than 70% of their carton being paperboard, a renewable plant-based material made from FSC – certified forests and other independently certified and traceable sources. This certification means new trees are continuously growing to replace what was used. Additionally, plant-based materials are better for the environment because they can be replenished over time, enabling a move away from fossil fuel-based materials. Tetra Pak® is a founding member of the Carton Council, a nonprofit organization of carton manufacturers that works to support recycling technology and local collection. Additionally, the company has committed to 100% renewable energy and have net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in global operations by 2030.

Dog Almighty packaging has been made with good in mind. The shelf-stable package does not need to be refrigerated until it’s opened, meaning less energy to transport (think, no chilled trucks!), and buying and storing are made more convenient, as they don’t need to be chilled. The Tetra Pak® cartons are also100% recyclable and can be turned into paper products like tissues and writing paper, or even green building materials.
